ANOTHER TASTY SHOW
Many people hate the cold winter months of January and February, but not us at 3B. Our start to the year is always a tasty one as we prepare for the Casual Dining Show.
The Casual Dining Show is one of my favourite exhibitions we work on, this year being our third and each year our client’s stands get bigger and better and more impressive.
Work began in Summer 2016 for the Casual Dining Show this year with our client, the newly rebranded Greenyard Frozen. They told us they wanted to entice visitors to the stand to have a good time, enjoy their food and experience less of a ‘hard’ sale.
With this in mind our creative team took to the drawing board to come up with some concepts that could offer this feel. We loved the modern trend of exposed brickwork teamed with woodwork, and we thought this would be perfect for Greenyard’s stand this year.
After our designers came up with some initial sketches and after much refinement, we pulled together a CAD drawing – which is essentially a digital 3D model of the stand.
We decided to use a timber framework as the focal point for our stand, the pergola. Which was then stained by Josh to match the wooden tables and the woodwork graphics we had printed on MDF. We finished that off with a raised floor, low hanging lights and a horseshoe bar complete with a hob, sink, fridges, freezers and microwaves.
Sticking to the rustic theme, our creatives also came up with an idea to create some apple crates with laser engraved logos. These sat alongside two blackboards, which the chefs could update with specials they were serving to give a rustic restaurant finishing touch.
After 4 months of design and preparation Josh and I began our first pre-build of the stand in late January. Greenyards stand came to life in front of our very eyes and we were not disappointed, it looked stunning! This is by far the most important step in the process as it gives our clients peace of mind before the exhibition and allows us to make any last minute tweaks before building at the exhibition.
Set up day soon came around which meant an early start and a trip to London for our build team, the results looked great giving the chefs at Greenyard had a fantastic looking bar style kitchen to serve and display their delicious products from, whilst looking out for some tasty leads!
